'With One Voice' Monteverdi Education Project 2011

15 Mar 2011

Encouraging Curiosity and Creativity

“With One Voice” is an innovative music education programme which provides students and teachers in London access to the world’s finest musicians and creative training. It celebrates the creative potential of people getting together who speak many languages. As a mirror of contemporary society, we will use Bach's Cantata BWV 59 that portrays a world where many languages meet in a multicultural market place.

Over five days Howard Moody leads members of the Monteverdi Choir, English Baroque Soloists and our Apprentices with sixty children of Hague School in Tower Hamlets. Together they will explore the power of language in music by students crafting their own words and movement into a performance for teachers, parents, and other students on 17 June at 10:00 am. The new work will include songs created by the group in many different languages and specially choreographed versions of Bach's dance music that deal with universal themes.

The Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra need your help in fostering future generations of players and singers. Together we can create innovative music education programmes which provide students and teachers in London access to the world’s finest musicians and creative training.

Make a donation today to ensure access for all.
